The Pidgeon Nest Reviews

Michael
A really lovely house, great location. Everything we asked for was put in the house (highchair, travel cot and stair gate). Would definitely stay again
Luca
Superb location. Two pubs in the village, ship inn superb food. 25 minutes walk to beach, views of river from house. House was not overly clean, mould in bathroom, bath tub not clean, kitchen floor filthy, etc. Bedding and towels were clean.
Darrell
A great cottage in a great location. Very well equiped and great pubs either side. If The Harbour Inn had The Ships menu, it would be the ideal pub....although The Harbours carvery on Sunday was superb. The entrance to the driveway is very narrow if you have a car larger than Focus or Astra and will struggle to get two on there if you have. The garden and equipment are very good and a lovely sun trap into the late evening.
Ros
It was well equipped and comfortable but could have been cleaner in certain areas. Not sure it would be warm enough in cold weather.
Anthony
Nice location and easily accessible for places to visit. Pub is next door so be aware of some noise until 11pm although the food is excellent. The property could definitely benefit from a guide book not only places to visit but also numbers such as doctors etc if needed. A lovely small village but quite a busy road right outside with limited pavement space. Something to be aware of if you have a buggy/ disabled person.
Tracy
Had a lovely, comfortable holiday in the Pidgeon Nest, fabulous location.
Jonas
We loved our holiday at The Pidgeon Nest. The Ship Inn next door is great for food and the Harbour Inn has a lovely garden. The property was extremely clean and the owners were really quick and helpful when we had small issues. We can definitely recommend, especially with small children as all the equipment is provided for free. The garden is especially delightful on a summerâ??s evening. Donâ??t hesitate to book!
Heidi
Overall, this property is exactly as advertised, though we wonder if car parking for two might be a struggle with the slim gateway. A second car might be better on the road. Generally We found it to be clean and having most of the basics needed.
Yvonne
A superb cottage, very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Lovely garden for our dogs. Superb location between both pubs. Lots to see and do close by. Highly recommend
Tracy
Cottage is great, very clean, beds, bedding and towels all very good. Great garden if taking a dog with lovely garden furniture if you get the sun like we did.
Pamela
Really lovely house so comfy, very well equipped & so cosy, amazing comfy beds & great kitchen/diner. Amazing views from beautiful enclosed well maintained flat garden. We can recommend this â??Pidgeon Nestâ?. Next time we will stay for 2 weeks plus you must visit Budleigh Salterton the pebbles are awesome & Branscombe throughly enjoyed our holiday
John
Lovely cottage in a great position.
Helen
Great location with amazing food at the pub just next door. Short walk into Seaton with a big Tesco.
Christina
We had a really lovely stay in Axmouth. The weather was beautiful, and the accommodation was more than adequate for 4 people and 3 dogs. The Ship Inn does some lovely food, with some good surrounding walks. Seaton and Lyme Regis aren't very far away so we made the most of the lovely weather and spent some time there, with our afternoons mostly spent in the back garden at the property topping up our tans. The dogs had a great time too.
Gwen
Lovely house, tastefully furnished. Could do with some attention in places. Location was spot on, great views, walks from the door and between 3 good pubs both serving great food. Walking distance to Seaton but quite a busy road to walk if you have children or a dog. There is a path but it's narrow and the traffic seemed fast. Ride the Seaton tram, it's a fun experience through some beautiful scenery
Charlotte
A lovely house. Very clean and comfortable. Iâ??m a fantastic location. We had a lovely time.
Alison
Great start with milk, tea, coffee and selection of chocolate biscuits left to tempt us. Good location for walking in all directions with foot paths on the door step. Lovely big lawn area for our 3 dogs.Cooking was easy with facilities provide, visited 1 of the 2 very local pubs for a drink, food smelt lovely but ate at property. Found lounge chilly in the evening even with log burning stove. Heating is on a time/temperature control which I understand as property heated with propane which is super expensive. Needed to just wear extra layers.
Janice
Overall a lovely stay, comfortable and spacious. Attention lacking in cleanliness to plastic seal on shower screen. Wobbly handle to frying pan, which we fixed. Otherwise well equipped with everything we needed. Large garden ,safe for dogs and children. Unfortunately we had a power cut , 1 to 11 pm. Would recommend you take torches/ lamp . Log burner was great. We called the owner the following day to reset heating and hot water , which he did. Location lovely . Two pubs in village. Could walk into Seaton, although main road busy and path narrow. Parking at house for two cars was difficult. We left one car on the drive and one in front of the gate recess. Would consider staying again .
Kevin
Very nice house with a good sized garden in a very good location near Seaton - we really enjoyed our stay.
