About Purley

Purley is a characterful three-bedroom holiday cottage in the village of Beer on the East Devon coast. Sitting in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, it's just 200 metres from the beach. The working feature fireplace and wooden floorboards give it a genuine country cottage feel.

Beer is a proper fishing village. White chalk cliffs drop to clear turquoise water. Fishing boats still bring in their daily catches of famous mackerel. Countryfile named Beer the UK's Top Picnic Spot. The South West Coast Path runs right through. Walk to Seaton along the coast or take the Seaton Tram to Colyton.

Sleeps six across three bedrooms a king-size, a twin and a bunk room upstairs. The ground floor garden room has a three-quarter size futon sofa bed. Two bathrooms: a family bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs. Open-plan kitchen-diner with a pine farmhouse table, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

Nearby: Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary (5.5 miles), Bicton Gardens (13 miles) and Crealy Adventure Park (16 miles). Beer Caves are just minutes away. Jurassic Coast Cruises depart from Exmouth (20 miles).

Purley suits families and groups who want a proper seaside base. Beach, pubs, restaurants and shops are all walkable from the cottage.

Purley works well for couples. The king-size bedroom, working fireplace and country cottage feel make evenings genuinely cosy. Beer village has good pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Seaton is the nearest town and is reachable by a scenic coastal walk from Beer. From Seaton you can take the Seaton Tramway to the village of Colyton making for a great family day out.

It's a bonus having the sun on the patio from early morning to early evening.Washing line and pegs would of been handy, Would of been helpful if we had known the washer, was in fact a washer dryer before we arrived, better photos of the patio would be beneficial.
