About Gill Cottage

Gill Cottage is a three-bedroom thatched stone cottage in Branscombe, near Seaton in Devon. Sitting in a leafy valley with gorgeous views on all sides, this is a proper chocolate-box cottage with thick stone walls, low ceilings, exposed beams and two inglenook fireplaces with wood burner-effect electric fires. Not a straight wall in sight.

Branscombe sits on the Jurassic Coast. The South West Coast Path runs right through, with sweeping views over Lyme Bay and a long shingle beach flanked by beach huts. The village of Beer is less than 3 miles east. Sidmouth is an 8-mile drive west and Honiton the antique capital of the South West is 9 miles north. The 14th-century Fountain Inn is on the doorstep.

The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: two doubles and one twin. There is a ground-floor shower room and an upstairs family bathroom with a bath.

Branscombe Beach (walkable), Beer Village (under 3 miles), the Donkey Sanctuary (short drive) and Sidmouth seafront (8 miles, approx. 20 minutes) are all within easy reach.

Two dogs welcome. Gill Cottage suits families and groups wanting a genuine Devon base with history, coast and countryside on the doorstep.

Lovely property, the roads are tight but you expect this with its location. This property is lovely and next door to a country pub with another 20 minutes walk away. The beach is about a 20minute walk too so brilliant. The property is stunning and has everything you need. Plenty of parking also! The price is competitive too! We stayed as two families and with separate stairs to separate parts of the house with two bathrooms it was absolutely perfect!

We loved the cottage - it was cosy and clean, and was also well placed on footpaths, and very near the pub! We had some problem getting the hot water running initially, and even once we did have hot running water we found that it ran out quickly (we could only ever get the bath a quarter full before the water ran out for example). It would be good to have some information about the hot water in the info book in the cottage. Apart from this it was great!
