Master Mariner Reviews

Siobhan
The cottage was perfect! There's nothing we would've changed, it was a great price, great location and had everything we needed. The log fire was perfect for a cosy night in and the bed was very comfy. We'd definitely come back for another stay.
Perry
Cute little cottage down a narrow road ( which you can drive down and quickly unload ) bedroom upstairs Mattress med/firm good quality sheets and towels Good modern shower room with toiletry storage Big picture window looking out onto the river Stairs step Stairs are steep but ok if you go sideways Place to hang costs when you enter cottage , big tv Comfortable chairs and sofa , kitchen small but well equipped Heating via plug in radiators in all rooms , log burners Very enjoyable
Maggie
there are some charming features to this cottage, decor is fresh and pretty. The upstairs snug area is very pleasant. The bedding and towels are really good quality. The stairs were challenging for me, but I was properly warned. The location is perfect.
Wayne
Needs refurbishing everything very tired only spent 3 days there because it needs a thorough clean even had to bath my dog as soon as we got home
Jenni
Gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful location in Appledore. Sitting in the snug, watching over the water, was a glorious way to spend time. Appledore is a really vibrant, friendly place, and I'm very glad we got to experience it
Jenny
Absolutely amazing view from the cottage!
Jim
Lovely cottage, small but cosy, comfortable and well laid out. Great location within easy walk of the village for pubs, restaurants and shops. Very well furnished and equipped, heating more than adequate for chillier periods, spotlessly clean. Not a problem for us but the stairs are a bit precipitous and would certainly be an issue for anyone with impaired mobility. We had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend
Alan
A cottage with character in an excellent location. We appreciated the views from the snug. We were a little concerned about parking, but found free roadside parking quite close to the cottage without any trouble. The heating system needs upgrading to improve comfort levels in the winter months. Good selection of pubs, eating establishments locally, and Appledore is well placed for touring a little further afield generally.
Melanie
Comfortable cosy cottage. Well equipped and appointed would return.
Amanda
Lovely little comfy (especially the sofa and bed) cottage, very well equipped has everything you need on holiday. Great location for exploring. The snug was a great area as an extra room. As stated no outside area and the stairs are very steep, but we knew this and it was fine. Grass for the dog just up the road.
Teresa
Beautiful cottage last minute booking but appledore didnââ?¬â?¢t disappoint for a bit of rest and relaxation before the rush of Christmas
Gillian
Super little cottage in a convenient location kept in a lovely condition by the owner and caretaker. The road from the nearby carpark is level and at Ã?£30 a week was ideal, The wood burning stove made the sitting room very cosy on wet autumn evenings. I loved the first floor cwtch; watching the tidal changes of the estuary, sunrises, sunsets plus the activities of sailors and birds much more enjoyable than TV. The cottage is in my list for a revisit maybe in the spring
Emma
There's nothing we'd change, it was a lovely place in a great position with a lovely view accross the water. We'd defintitely consider booking again.
Nick
Lovely cottage details on the website true and accurate. Appledore is a lovely location convenient for explore the North Devon coast.
Michelle
The cottage is in a nice location, perfect for two and Appledore is a nice place to stay. There are local pubs and places to eat within very close proximity to the cottage. The cottage is clean , well equipped and was a great base for a week. The heating was appreciated particularly in the living room as it did get quite chilly even in June. Parking is a few minutes walk away and we found it good value by paying for the week and we never struggled for a space. Would recommend
Jennie

Christopher
Lovely, clean well equipped cottage. Very convenient location. Quite and tranquil with some nice local pubs.
Joseph
Comfortable and generally well equipped cottage in a great location. Stairs are a bit steep, but you are prewarned about this.
Helen
Great location, importantly still retains a traditional feel - reflecting the boatbuilding/maritime past of the area..comfortable for a couple, with great views of the estuary.
Emma

Hannah
Super cosy cottage. Ideal for a quiet winter getaway. Superb location and easy to walk to local shop and restaurants. Bought a week's ticket for the local car park which was excellent value and took out the stress. Would stay again.
Carolyn
Lovely clean and quirky cottage. It was just as expected from the information provided. Perfect for two people.
Emma
It is clean, cosy and in a brilliant location.
Barry
The location and the cottage it's self are both beautiful. The cottage has such a homely feel to it, and the log burner helps the long dark cold winter nights by. We will definitely be looking to book again.
Debbie
All was fantastic and as advertised, could not fault the cottage, facilities and of course the surprise bottle of prosecco (lovely touch) Good guide and welcome book giving all necessary information of cottage and local amenities. Would visit again
Linda
Great location, warm comfortable and clean. It does warn you that the stairs are steep so not a problem. Everything you could need for a week away.
