Woodcutters Cottage At Greatrock Farm Reviews

Richard
Lovely place and facilities close to various attraction but lots for families on site also with beautiful works. Accommodation has everything you need to eat and relax. Highly recommend the alpaca walk for families.
Jill
A wonderful little Cottage in a fabulous location - so incredibly peaceful! Ken and Sarah were excellent hosts, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pottery experience and walking Lulu and Maca, two of the Alpacas. The games room was an added bonus, which we made the most of. A good base for exploring Devon, with lovely walks from the Cottage, exploring the woods in the grounds, or walking further afield. Will return if we get the opportunity. Thank you Ken & Sarah x
Michael
This place has a lot going for it - very secluded, very handy games barn, friendly hosts.
Sarah

Marian
Lovely location, set in a valley, ideal for nature lovers, we loved meeting the Alpaca's, and i enjoyed my afternoon throwing pots on tbe wheel and hand making clay pots, the games room was amazing, also lots to do and too visit in the area, Sarah and Kenneth were very welcoming, a very enjoyable holiday.
Cathryn
A lovely cottage, cosy and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for belongings. The games/entertainment room is an added bonus.
Kerry
Lovely little place, in a really pretty valley. As the description says, no phone signal, but the WiFi was excellent (unlike the hotels where I have to stay for work!). Sarah was very friendly, and we had absolutely everything we needed while we were there. The location was great for everything we wanted to do in Devon, and the walks around the farm (both on and off their land) were absolutely beautiful. Can't recommend highly enough!
Elizabeth
This was the best place we have ever booked. Perfect in every way, If we could give it more stars we would.
Elizabeth
It was all amazing. The time has flown by, 5 weeks!! Lovely cottage, surroundings, can't fault anything
Sharon
Amazing little lodge tucked away in the heart of dartmoor! Great stay cation for the both of us and our 2 little dogs! Sarah and Kenneth make you feel very welcome and they honestly can't do enough for you.
Zoe
Lovely little wooden cottage in a delightful location. The owners were very friendly and kept good communication before and during our stay. There was a cream tea on arrival, including gluten free scones to accommodate dietary requirements. There was plenty of wood for the wood burning stove which made it a very cosy retreat just after Christmas. Thank you Sarah and Ken for a lovely weekend stay.
Amanda
Lovely cottage. Super quiet. Great for young kids to be with the animals and the countryside. Dogs are welcomed and have a place just for them. The owners are lovely people and make guests feel really welcome. Pottery can be made and painted. Itââ?¬â?¢s the countryside how itââ?¬â?¢s meant to be. There is even a nice pub that serves food just a short walk away. Just one note: the lanes are very narrow and so I advise getting to the cottage in daylight hours the first day.
Jennifer
Such a wonderful place to stay. Peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is so pretty, we had fresh scones and clotted cream waiting for us on arrival. The log burner made the cottage so warm and cozy. Plenty of equipment and utensils. Kenneth the owner was so lovely. Happy to help with anything we needed to make our stay easy and relaxed. The games room is so much fun. We watched a movie on the cinema screen and played switch games. My 13 year old loved it in there. Walks around property lovely too.
Jessica
Woodcutters Cottage is a little piece of peaceful bliss - highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good base point to stay at whilst exploring the south! The games room was such a treat, especially with the home cinema set up. There are plenty of beautiful walks nearby and it's a great location for a number of local beaches. Loved hearing the barn owls at night and being greeted by the alpacas every day! I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a good getaway.
Rachel
We had a lovely stay at woodcutters cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a great base to explore the local area. We took the opportunity to walk the alpacas and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Sarahââ?¬â?¢s cakes are delicious too! A lovely peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings! Highly recommend!
James
V nice stay in a clean well equipped little cottage- we would perhaps book a larger property for a further stay with both the children. The Games/ entertainment room was a great addition on site
Victoria

David

Amanda
We had a lovely stay at Great rock farm, we stayed in the Woodcutters cottage and was welcomed with cream tea, which was delicious and a lovely touch. The cottage is fairly small but well put together and beautifully decorated. Lots of open space and great walks with the dogs within the farm. The huge games room was great fun , they have thought of everything to entertain the whole family. Would highly recommend this great farm.
Nicola
What a great place to get away from it all. From the moment we arrived and sat down to the cream tea with home made scones, to the peaceful surroundings with absolutely no traffic noise , to the fun to be had in the games barn we were able to relax and really chill. Woodcutters has everything you need and is a great place to stay - the lanes getting to it may be a bit tricky but well worth it.
Paul
Perfect family destination, very rural position but plenty of places within easy reach. An amazing games barn with many things to do for all ages and can even have a cinema night. A must for all is the pottery experience, not ever trying pottery before the whole family got involved creating pots, mugs painting and designing with Sarah's help and advice and can even toast your creations with a glass of wine. Not least the chance to walk with the Alpacas and enjoy the surroundings at the farm.
Lesley
We had the most wonderful weekend break at Woodcutters cottage on Greatrock Farm. The cottage itself was perfect, very cute. The little extras made all the difference, everything provided for a perfect Devon cream tea and treats for the dogs. The games barn was great fun and with a big log fire itââ?¬â?¢s super comfortable. All of this set in the most stunning countryside surrounded by wonderful walks. Thank you Sarah and Ken for making our stay so special.
Julia
We booked for the worst time of year, rain every day, but when we arrived there were fairy lights and cream tea, the cottage was cosy and welcoming and our hosts were lovely. Sarah emailed us before arrival with instructions on how to navigate the winding country lanes, much appreciated. The hospitality folder has maps and there are beautiful woodland walks in the neighbourhood. The games room has lots of things to try. The waste disposal is well organised. A good all-year-round destination.
