Summercombe is a Grade II-listed barn conversion sitting on a hillside in Berrynarbor, North Devon, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set within a 60-acre rewilding project, this two-bedroom property sleeps four and sits surrounded by North Devon countryside with walks straight from the door. Guest Nigel described the location as "breathtaking, peaceful and scenic."

The village of Berrynarbor is two miles away. Ilfracombe's harbour, galleries, cafes and restaurants are also just two miles away. Woolacombe Bay's sandy surf beaches are nine miles out. Hele Cove beach is a two-mile drive.

Two elegant ground-floor bedrooms both have en-suites. The super-king room features a roll-top bath and separate shower. The second bedroom has twin zip-and-link beds convertible to a super-king on request. Upstairs, a vaulted open-plan living space with oak beams and large skylights floods the room with light. A wood burner adds warmth on cooler evenings.

Ilfracombe harbour (2 miles) offers boat trips to Lundy Island. Woolacombe Bay (9 miles) is perfect for surfing. Arlington Court (8 miles) is a National Trust estate worth visiting. Valley of Rocks near Lynton is roughly 14 miles away.

Summercombe suits couples and small families wanting countryside and coast. Undercover storage for bikes and surfboards, EV charging and a dog walking field make it genuinely practical. One dog is welcome.

This cottage is absolutely stunning what a find ! Top spec and everything you could possibly want or need is catered for. Plush towels, crisp sheets and super comfortable bed, amazing hamper , coffee, I could go on , just awesome. The location was perfect we could access north Devon easily from the cottage and fabulous walks around the cottage. I would recommend this cottage and the answer to , would you go back ? Is a resounding yes ! Thankyou to our amazing hosts who were an absolute joy !

Summercombe is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location with sea views from the front door. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable and the welcome basket provided, plus eggs and honey from the farm were delicious. There are lovely walks both from and around the farm, and plenty of wildlife around on the doorstop. We particularly enjoyed the owls of an evening. It's the most peaceful location with stunning countryside views as well as the sea in the distance. The electric car charger on site was a plus for us, with the first charge included in the price. We had a lovely peaceful break and would love to return and explore the area some more.

Access to the property was easy and straight forward, all rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The facilities are of a good quality and our hosts provided some lovely personal touches, which included a basket of food items eg fruit,soft drinks and chocolate and a small jar of honey, fresh eggs and doggytreats, which was much appreciated. The grounds were extensive with wonderful views. We would highly recommend this property and location for a relaxing vacation.

Our hosts, Ally and Steve, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The barn conversion is very well done and is warm, airy, comfortable and very easy to live in. There is a beautiful sea view from the front door and loads of dog friendly space just a few yards away. Outside, all you can hear is birdsong, the wind in the trees and the occasional sheep. The welcome pack was the most generous we have ever received. We will be back next year and I thoroughly recommend this cottage.

We had a fabulous stay in this wonderful cottage. The property was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and fully equipped. Even down to simple things like washing liquid, fabric softener, salt, pepper, and even fresh fruit! On the morning of the first day we were left fresh eggs from the farm and a pot of honey from their bee hives. Lovely little touches which made our stay even better and more enjoyable. This was by far the best cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The location is perfect for access to lots of places to visit and a supermarket, yet feels so remote when you arrive. Itâ??s easy to find and thereâ??s plenty of parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We loved our week's holiday at this property. Everything that we could need or think of, was provided. Yes, even the eggs and pot of honey was really appreciated. Our dog loved his "own area" to run around and explore in the mornings. It was dog proof so I knew that he was safe there. We loved driving around and exploring the local area, even managing to dodge the rain at times. One day, we had to stay in due to heavy rain, but that was no problem at all, as we had everything we needed and it was so comfortable. We went out later in the afternoon for a walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, such friendly hosts too.

Summercombe is a great place to stay. So much thought and detail has been put into the cottage by the owners. A lovely token was the homegrown eggs given to us with even the chickensâ?? names on the eggs. The welcome pack was a nice addition too particularly the treats for our dog! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - it was so peaceful and such a great location for the many walks in the area. Summercombe is an idyllic cottage, in a very peaceful setting, with ample things to do and see on the site for people of all ages. It is geographically well placed as a very comfortable retreat after a day spent visiting the local attractions. The cottage is spacious, well equipped and beautifully maintained. As a family with teenagers, we wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

We needed a break away with our dog. All the other cottages we looked at didnâ??t give you the luxury feeling, they catered for a dog but not the owners. Sommercombe was dog friendly giving us the idyllic luxury retreat it was outstanding- very clean catered for all our needs and more, we didnâ??t want to leave. This was 5 star plus and we will definitely be booking again !!!
