Bluebells Cottage At Greatrock Farm Reviews

Graham
Beautiful cottage in a lovely rural location. Be aware that the access lanes are very narrow but you soon get used to them. Our cottage was very pretty and well equipped. The only thing was we didnââ?¬â?¢t realise that ours didnââ?¬â?¢t have a log burner which would have been useful in the recent cold snap. Otherwise it was lovely And do go and make sure to say hello to the Alpacas !
Scott
A tiny basement flat on the bottom corner of the main farmhouse where the owners live, we did hear them moving around above on occasions. There's little natural light to the property with windows on only two sides (sitting room and bedroom). Kitchen is fairly well stocked with cooking kit but the worktop space is tiny so simple meals only. There's a well sized fridge with a small icebox at the top. The gamesroom across the road is a huge bonus if you have kids & are in a larger property there.
Joanna
Lovely, cosy cottage. Quiet & comfortable.
Faith
Comfy cottage in a cool shaded valley. Kitchen not easy to cook in but there is a pub in the village. Lovely cream tea on arrival. Games room is a bonus. Lots to do in the area but the narrow lanes are a nightmare.
Alan
The cottage itself was fine for the two of us and the dog, and the cottage amenities were fine. The supply of DVDs kept us well occupied in the evening. The shower was lovely. Please note that the route to the pub is not for the faint-hearted as it goes up (steeply) through some woods. The narrow roads are also not suitable for foot traffic.
Rosemary
Location good for exploring local area- we went out and about most days. Be aware that the area has single track roads. Cottage was clean and tidy and had all we needed - comfortable for the two of us. Games room was an added bonus and had plenty to entertain. The site itself was well kept with beautiful sculptures- plenty of space to sit or explore on site round woodland walk if you want to. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Fiona
A beautiful cottage in a magical setting for a tranquil holiday. Plenty to enjoy on site if the weather is good. The barn provides a cinema screen, games, piano and other instruments, table tennis and table football if the weather is poor. The cottage is small but perfectly formed. There are beautiful walks (all uphill!) from the door. The nearest pub if you walk, is up a very steep path then down again. Not the nicest pub so would recommend The Clay cutters arms at Chudleigh Knighton
Kate
Really lovely location and little cottage to stay in. Ideal for dogs and would definitely like to come back!
Jonathan
Me and my partner stayed here for 3 weeks while we looked for and moved into a new home. The place was very nice, cosy and comfortable, while still being well equipped with all we needed. Ken and Sarah were both really lovely helped with anything we asked about or needed. The valley is great with a nice wooded walk on the hill behind the property and we even had snow! The drive was noted to be difficult, but if you're used to Devon country roads they were fine.

Absolutely an amazing place to stay ,the owners live on site and are very helpful and kind they couldn't do enough to make my stay a fabulous experience ,I highly recommend a stay here and look forward to going back ,I had my poodle with me and he really enjoyed it too
Richard
A lovely stay in a really peaceful cottage. It was just the right size for the two of us. Sarah and Ken were very welcoming and helpful and we really enjoyed the pottery experience. Plenty of walking right from the door.
Richard
Hosts made us feel welcome, the info pack is very useful as we managed to complete some of the walks on the hand drawn map. Lovely and quiet spot, great chance to sit outside the property and read a book in the sunshine (with a beer....).
Valery
Scott
Lovely location, Sarah and Kenneth very helpful. The games barn was very well equipped, which would have been wonderful with children or teenagers. The alpacas regularly poked their heads above their pen and were delightful. Cream tea on arrival was gratefully received. We would thoroughly recommend this place. We stayed in bluebells cottage, which was very well equipped with a walk-in shower and a king-size bed. Very comfortable.
Jill
Lovely little cottage. P Beautifully furnished with top quality fittings. The kitchen is small so donââ?¬â?¢t plan to cook a master chef meal, but it is very well equipped. Nice location if you want peace and quiet. It takes 10 minutes to get to a main road due to being single track but the road is good with plenty of passing places. Itââ?¬â?¢s shady early morning and late afternoon/evening so itââ?¬â?¢s very cool in the hot weather. Plenty of sunshine from 9:30 to 4. Sarah and Ken are very friendly and helpful
Robin
The property is lovely and cozy with electric /heating for those chilly mornings or evenings. It has a fully equipped Games Room for those not so sunny days or evenings and the grounds are lovely. Walking the Alpacas or trying your hand at a bit of pottery are all there to try your hand at. Rock Farm is reached by a number of narrow, single track roads, which can be awkward when you meet another vehicle coming the other way , but other than that, a lovely little holiday let.
Martin
Following a difficult and stressful final 8 mile drive through narrow, unmarked lanes, the Cottage was a delight to eventually come upon. 10 out of 10 for walkers, situated on the edge of Dartmoor. Wonderful for returning to after chosen hikes, from several routed beyond the Cottage front door. Don't attempt to use the car until going home time.
Linda
We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage is beautiful and the gardens were wonderful.
Bill
Salt and pepper is needed and probably a mat or two in the bedroom.
Joanna
Loved the relaxed friendly vibe and location Was perfect. Dogs were more than welcome and well catered for, ours loved the safe paddock for a run off the leads and there are lots of walks from the front door.
Ian
We stayed in this comfortable property over Easter 2024. The remote location added to our enjoyment. There are numerous footpaths to explore. The property is within walking distance of the village pub.
Debbie
This was a lovely compact cottage with good a standard of equipment. The grounds were great with lots of different areas which had it stopped raining we would have loved to explore more! The games room was extremely well equipped and could be enjoyed by guests of any age. The small additional touches - the cream team and the dog treats etc... were great and very welcome.
Lynn
Lovely cottage, in a very quiet location just a 10minute walk to the village pub
Heather
Lovely quiet cottage in sheltered and secluded surroundings. We felt very welcomed by the owners. The arrival cream tea was an added bonus!
Dav Id
