Water Terrace Reviews

Sydney
Great holiday. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed and the electric log burner made the evenings warm and cosy.
Tracey
Quiet lane off the main road to the beach and a secure garden for the dogs which was such a bonus. The cottage is so well equipped and this included toddler toys and a duck for bath time. Walk up the road to the play park and co-op and down to the beach. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for your thoughtful considerations and the heavenly ginger cake
Melanie
We absolutely loved it here, the cottage was perfect in every aspect, Iââ?¬â?¢m rather jealous as itââ?¬â?¢s my ideal home! Perfect location, nice walk down to the beach, and an easy drive to Ilfracombe & Woolacombe. The cottage was spotlessly clean, another big tick for me. It had everything we needed and was super comfy, we all slept well. The little road down to the cottage is not a problem at all, despite other reviews. We would definitely stay here again 5*
Debra
Lovely cottage . Nice and clean comfy beds
Ann
A lovely cottage down a quiet lane. Very clean and comfortable and plenty of room for our family of 4 adults. There are lots of interesting places within easy driving distance. The beach is a 15min walk and we enjoyed swimming and rock pooling. Plenty of good eateries and the baker had just re-opened. The driveway/lane mentioned in previous posts has been partially re-surfaced so is fine to drive down. The corner just needs to be taken with care.
Tala
Clean,Nice & Cosy setup. scones & jams were a nice added touch. Very narrow path to drive through a GLC might be ok for a small city car. 15m walk to the beach with stunning views. Town had coffee shops, yummy fish & chips. CO OP is like 10m walk. Streets are narrow, not ideal for families with small kids. crossing constantly to find a pavement. Boiler pressure was down, should have been checked by owners prior. Requested to remove bed sheets/pillows before leaving & a tight 10am leaving rule.
Emily
Very comfortable and clean cottage and we have high standards. Great location for exploring north Devon. We took our beagle with us and found the garden to be totally secure, a must for us! Well stocked Co op just up the road for groceries. The lane down to the cottage is fine if driven with care, the last turn into the car port area is tight but we managed with a Kia sportage without any incident and it wouldnââ?¬â?¢t put us off booking again. The walk down into Combe Martin is a 15 minute stroll.
Samantha
They property was spotless and beds were comfy. Unfortunately the lounge was cold and uninviting. I appreciate because it was dog friendly it has to be practical but the leather sofas were not cosy to sit on, the tiled floors were cold ( would be fine in summer) and having no fire didn't help. Driving into Combe Martin the scenery was beautiful but once in it appeared very run down. The local pub Pack O Cards was very welcoming and food lovely and the one coffee shop that was open was lovely.
Jane
We had a lovely, relaxing few days over Christmas at Water Terrace, which was tucked away so really quiet. There were very welcoming touches with treats for the dogs, mince pies etc for the humans and the cottage was decorated for Christmas. Within easy walking distance of the beach. Shame that the log burner had been removed
Chloe
We had a lovely few days away. The cottage was lovely and clean and well equipped. Definitely would recommend.
Joanne
This is lovely, little cottage, it's comfortable, clean with great beds and linen. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed. The garden is great and secure, we have an escapee dog and he was fine! It's about a 15 min walk too the beach, the pack o cards pub is on the doorstep, we had a carvery, which was lovely! We also ate at the focsle on the beach, great location, lovely pub, food was a little disappointing for the price tho! We would return, great location overall!
Warren
Wonderful cottage...lovely and clean...everything you need to have a nice relaxing holiday..some lovely touches to with milk in the fridge and all you need for devon cream scones..could not ask for more really..many thanks
Ivan
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was clean, very well equipped and very warm. The lounge was comfortable and the smart TV great for the dark nights. The beds were very comfortable. The garden was a decent size and fully enclosed which was great for our 3 dogs. The road to the cottage was not as bad as made out in other reviews. I have a low car and it was OK as long as you go slowly. It was a 15 mins walk to beach. The pack of cards is a dog friendly pub and good meal.
Paul
Great stay again good location arrived on the Sunday in time for the Carvery at the pub Pack o cards a stones throw from the cottage (a must) well equipped and great security for the dogs only gripe is the gas flame effect log burner was out of action which adds to the Cosy warm feeling after a coastal walk ......a real miss.
Jill
The house was excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable. Enclosed garden very useful for the dogs as was the outside tap and hose. Clair was very helpful
Gill
This is a well appointed and comfortable cottage, we very much enjoyed our stay here. The welcome pack was much appreciated, as were the biscuits/equipment for our dog, Polo - the owner had thought of everything we might need while we stayed. We were within easy walking distance of several pubs which welcomed dogs, in particular The Focsle, which has a lovely position by the sea and provides a variety of delicious meals. The closest pub, The Pack o' Cards, is only a two minute walk away.
Louise
Lovely clean cottage. Be aware the shower is downstairs, next to the front door. The lane to the cottage is very narrow and has some huge potholes, a low ride car will not survive. The kitchen is well equipped though very dark. The two settees need replacing or re-upholstering. The mattresses in the double and the twin are very comfortable. Although there is parking, it is right at the back of the property and there are several steep steps to negotiate with luggage and the length of the garden
Jackie
Very clean and well equipped. Particularly appreciated the nespresso machine!! Delicious scones and treats for the dogs were a lovely touch. The house and garden was very dog friendly. Clair is an asset and was very friendly. Great location too. Highly recommended.
L
Extremely comfy cottage with everything you need for your stay. We were very lucky with the spring sunshine and the little patio with table and chairs is a great sun-trap, we managed to eat several meals outside and just laze around in the sun. Plenty of pubs to choose from to eat out and all dog friendly, the pack o cards does a great Sunday Carvery. Also had a takeaway pizza from the kebab shop down the road which was great. We walked into town easily most days, as well as up to the Co-op .
Judith
The cottage is really lovely, clean and welcoming with lots of little extras such as milk, biscuits and a cake provided. We stayed when it was very wet and windy and access through the garage was great. Beds were comfy. Note that dogs are not allowed upstairs - this was fine for us as our dog isnââ?¬â?¢t at home.
Michelle
Our Christmas getaway at this cottage was simply wonderful. It had everything we needed, and more, to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage's cleanliness and cozy ambiance added to the charm of the experience. The housekeeper was helpful and just a phone call away, which made our stay hassle-free. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a beautifully delicious cake. Highly recommended for those seeking a cozy and relaxing retreat.
