Waders Cottage Reviews

William
Waders cottage is comfortable. It is decorated and furnished throughout to a very high standard . Perfect for us . The upstairs sitting room looking down the estuary is an added bonus! The street is narrow , but you can unpack outside then the car park is just a short walk away . Appledore is a delightful little place, scenic and with lots of pubs and eateries easily reached on foot . We enjoyed our stay very much . There was not a hair drier and thatââ?¬â?¢s the only thing it lacked !
Tony
The Cottage was perfect for us ideally situated for walking in and around Appledore visiting local area via bus and car.
Lin
A lovely comfortable cottage, perfect for a couple. Very well appointed throughout. Great location for the village and walks from cottage to the Skern and coast path beyond. Convenient and reasonably priced long stay carpark nearby.
Milton
Ideal location in a lovely seaside town. A beautiful house with a great courtyard as well as a surprising upstairs sitting room with sea views. The nearest pub, at about fifty metres distance, is excellent for those who like such things .... we did! We bought a local parking ticket for our week for Ã?£30 which worked well. The car park is only about 250metres from the house and felt entirely safe.
Ian
We really enjoyed our stay in this property. It is well located, easy to find and is near to parking. The property is easy to the eye as you enter. All the modern necessities of life are there and the WiFi is much faster then we're used to. The kitchen is well thought out and equipped. Appledore is a beautiful place, we've been many times and would happily recommend the location and property. We would definitely stay again, it has a welcoming feel and you feel at home the moment you enter..
Patricia
Great location. Steep stairs. Top end equipment and furniture.
Penny
Excellent location. Unload quickly (everyone is used to it!) then follow the one way road for a free parking space. If not there is a large car park with reasonable charges for the week. There is also another little car park on the way back round to the big one. Property is lovely and well equipped. You will need to bring own towels and a hairdryer. It has a DVD player as well as all the usual channels, plus loads of books. Pub is 100 yards away and small shop is walkable along the front!
Suzanne
Waders Cottage is in an ideal location in a beautiful little Devon village which has all you could want, pubs, shops cafes and a lovely sea front all within a 5 minute walk. We had a lovely holiday with ideal sunny weather. Waders Cottage however is not 4 star standard, needs modernising, and a better standard of cleaning. A litte care and attention a welcome pack and nice towels and bedding and this could easily be a very good 4 star cottage.
Tracy
Lovely well equipped comfortable cottage, very clean. Lovely views from the upstairs windows. Appledore is s fantastic peaceful place to stay. We would recommend a visit to Market Street Kitchen cafe the food is very good. Some lovely places to visit are Clovelly, Instow, Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Parking was easy in the Churchfields car park Ã?£30 for the week, only a short walk to the cottage.
Elaine
Some good points, rooms are good size and the courtyard garden is lovely, the kitchen is well appointed with quality appliances, however we found the cleanliness in the kitchen not acceptable, debris and human hair in freezer boxes and crockery drawer, meaning I had to spend time cleaning before could use these areas. Generally the cottage was in need of a deep clean. Bathroom needs updating. In spite of these we had a good holiday and Appledoor is a lovely community. No info on rubbish disposal
Kathy
Great location and well equipped with quality appliances and furniture. . Bathroom needs some TLC but was clean and adequate for our needs. Plenty of room for two people. We loved our first visit to Appledore and found plenty to do despite the weather.
Christopher
Well maintained very clean cottage in an excellent location. Kitchen benefits from modern appliances. Relatively close to public car park. Paid Ã?£30 for a one week permit for convenience of not having to find a space on on street parking as very popular. Bathroom adequate but no hairdryer. Highly recommended.
Paul
Location location location, beautiful
Vic
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at Waders Cottage -the last time was 6years ago - and we were delighted to find very little at the cottage or in Appledore had changed. Waders is warm, comfortably furnished with a very well equipt kitchen. excellent parking at the end of the street is 2minutes (Ã?£22.50 per week) and another couple of minutes sees you the town centre. Plenty of places to eat and drink and an excellent Morrisons supermarket in Bideford about 4 miles away.
Evelyn
Nice and modern inside apart from bathroom. Bed not suitable for a tall person as has an end on it. Good location.
