The Pynes Reviews

Marie
A lovely secluded place with close access to hiking paths along the coast. Only lacking information was about the farm dog, as we ourselves have a reactive dog and that's why we look for secluded places with enclosed gardens. But the owners were very nice about it anyways.
David
Cottage in a very remote position. Ideal for those walking the coastal path. Good also for your dogs! Cottage very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils & cookware.
Maureen
Cottage was very nice. But needs new sofa it was very low for us bed was very comfy. Bob the dog was lovely started to play with my dog after few days Dry lovely walks from the farm We really enjoyed our stay. And the hosts were very helpful
Judith
If you value a remote location, well away from hordes of people this is the place for you. There are great walks on the South West coast path from the doorstep. The terrain is rugged and the views are spectacular. The cottage is spacious, clean and well equipped. Be warned, the nearest large supermarket is 14 miles away. The lanes to the village of Hartland are narrow (single track in places). Trekking poles and an ability to reverse a car are advisable! Malcolm, Di & Bob are great hosts!
John
Superb in every way We loved everything about this holiday Very quiet and peaceful Would definitely recommend
Martin
Very nice clean, well appointed bungalow. Lovely owners and the perfect position for absolute peace and quiet. Great location for walkers and nature lovers but is isolated. Nearest shop in Hartland is a 15 minute drive away along very narrow twisty country lanes. Typical rural Devon countryside. The Anchor pub in Hartland is well worth a visit, very nice beer and food.
Anne-marie
A great base for exploring the area and ideally located on the SW coastal path. The cottage was very comfortable and it was nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. We were able to walk out from the cottage without using the car. The walking is strenuous and I was glad of my walking poles. The spring flowers and blossom were delightful , wildlife abundant, and the quiet much appreciated.
Monica
This cottage was lovely and comfy with all you could need. Quite big too. In a beautiful location. We woke to sunshine and birdsong every day. Quite a drive to the main road but we bought fresh eggs, homemade preserves, etc along the way. Recommend a trip to Clovelly. The hosts were so so friendly too.
Alison
Lovely Cottage in a wonderful part of Devon. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our 28 days, enjoying the local walks and fabulous views on the doorstep. The cottage is like a home from home with everything you would need. Comfortable and peaceful.
Christine
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Pynes. Despite being early December, the house was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Lovely walks directly from the cottage, especially the unbeatable Hartland Point to Hartland Quay walk, returning via green lanes. Do take basic supplies with you, as Hartland village is a fair drive along single track lanes and there are only two small shops, of which the Post Office is the best stocked. Thank you Di, Malcolm and Bob the dog for being perfect hosts.
Malcolm
very nice owners the cottage was very comfortable nice walks from the door
Tina
The owners were fantastic, very welcoming, and so friendly. The cottage was just like home from home. We felt very relaxed straight away.. The coast walks from the Cottage were amazing. Which our dogs really enjoyed.
Simon
Malcom and Di are a lovely couple and perfect hosts. If youre looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat off the beaten track, this fits bill perfectly. 5 min walk to Hartland point and the coastal footpath. Do take full advantage of the walk down the farm track directly out of the property 20 mins down to a beautiful little bay and waterfall . This property is a gem of a rural location if thats what your'e after. Stayed before and hopefully will again. Simon & Katie, little Blake and Spencer.
Angela
A great location with amazing coastal access, cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Di and Malcolm are great hosts. Historically interesting, and close to lovely beaches.
Peter
A beautiful quiet location with a secret pebble beach. The owners were really welcoming and friendly. We were able to go walking from the property along the South west coast path. It's an isolated location and around 10 minutes from main roads but there is plenty to do within 45 minutes drive.
Virginia
The cottage was very comfortable. It was well equiped and the rooms were were clean and fresh. The position was wonderful; quiet and peaceful and only minutes on foot to the sea; lots of lovely walks from the door .The coastal scenery nearby is very dramatic. .I found Hartland Abbey an exceptional place to visit . Hosts Di and Malcolm were welcoming and friendly and my dog got on famously with their dog Bob. We had a lovely time
Shirley
If you are looking to get away from it all, but still maintain your Wi-Fi lifeline then this cottage is ideally situated. Even more so if you are a keen walker, the SW coast path is minutes from the door. Bird life and wildlife plenty to see
