West Lodge Reviews

Nicholas
The cottage was as described, the heating and hot water was very good. The grounds are to great to walk around. I had previously lived in the house so it was interesting to see how things have changed. The environment is very quiet. For us an early morning dog walk on Trinity Hill (about 10 mins drive away) was a great start to our day. There was nothing extra we thought we needed. The wifi worked fine.
Jane
Disappointing stay due to cleanliness issues and poor quality furnishings, information in booklet provided by cottage out of date, went to walk to the private beach and was informed it was too dangerous because of the landslip. Location good as between Lyme Regis and Seaton, close to Sidmouth too. Ideal for dog walkers, cyclists and people requiring a quiet break. Local pubs: the Ship Inn was excellent and the Harbour did a bountiful Sunday roast, nothing too much trouble
Steven
Comfortable and well equipped cottage in stunning surroundings
Sherrel
The location of the cottage on the estate is quaint, we enjoyed walking around the estate. The cottage was roomy and reasonably comfortable. The pictures of the cottage on the website are much better than the reality. Cleanliness needs addressing.
Stella
Rather over-priced for what is very much a no-frills holiday let: basic equipment (no welcome pack at all, not even tea and biscuits; few decent wine glasses, no hair dryer, not enough loo rolls, no children's crocks or cutlery; no books or games of any kind), house over-shadowed by large trees. On the plus side, nice and quiet, decent bathrooms, and interesting access to a secluded beach.
Ian
This property is part of the impressive Rosden estate the location is simply gorgeous and very tranquil. There was private parking and a huge plus was that there was a gate to make the grounds of the property including the garden completely dog-safe. Our two dogs loved the garden. The beds were comfy and the house was well-appointed for Axeminister and Lyme Regis. The house could have been cleaner and the garden was overgrown a bit but all in all a lovely holiday.
Tracy
West lodge in Rousdon is set in an out standing estate, we had some lovely walks but couldn't go on to the private beach due to a landslide, but that's nature. West lodge had everything we needed for our holiday, it was lovely and clean , the beds were comfortable, and the towels were soft and fluffy unlike some we have used in the past. Really couldn't fault it.
Sandra
Spacious lodge. Really warm when heating kicks in. Great for larger families with dogs. Plenty of equipment to be self sufficient. Great closed off garden and loads of walking around estate for dogs, plenty of poo bins. It was a shame we couldn't do the coast walk due to a landslide but understandable- means we can return in the future.
Sally
A really lovely residence on a beautiful estate in a superb location. There are so many beautiful places just a short drive away.
