Honeysuckle Cottage Welcombe Reviews

Jenni
We had a wonderful holiday there, very restful and peaceful. It is the most beautiful location. The equipment provided was just what was needed. we used the slow cooker quite a lot and it was lovely to come in to a meal ready to eat. We fed the birds every day and on our last day we say a beautiful deer just over the hedge. He stayed for quite a few minutes. Honeysuckle Cottage is ideally suited to explore the lovely coastline and we spent quite a lot of time at Sandymouth Bay. which has lovely clean sand. Even in the middle of October, we were able to sit on the beach with no wind buffeting us and to have a picnic watching 8 surfers. It was stunning. We would highly recommend the cottage, it is beautiful.
Margaret
Lovely quiet place to stay.
Andy
The cottage was great , the location beautiful .. we're already planning on going back !
Andrea
The cottage was furnished to a very high standard, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views from the sitting area or patio of surrounding area were superb and we enjoyed seeing birds and wildlife. Although the access was via a very rough lane, the location was great and provided a good base from which to explore the area. You will need to bring your own soap and kitchen consumables.
Emma
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Honeysuckle Cottage, appreciating the peaceful location, watching the wildlife and sunsets of an evening and numerous walks in the local area.
Marie
The cottage is lovely and very private & peaceful with gorgeous views. The lane leading to the property is full of large potholes which cannot be avoided due to the narrowness of it,
David
Cottage was clean but cold at night as underfloor heating was off at the fuse board and no instruction for programming TV was not tuned in Phone had no signal and number given was unobtainable when signal out of area was tried The approach track was stated as having potholes when in effect serious erosion was found No shop nearby and pub was a difficult walk away We came home three days early as unsuitable for the elderly (First time in 35 years )
Gillian
Lovely cottage, so quiet, take some bird food as there are lots of them, also fox, hedgehogs oh and the deer in the next field. You will need to take salt, pepper, oil, and wash tabs. But it is very well equipped even a slow cooker! Bed really comfy. Lovely quiet relaxing week. Easy to visit Bude, Holsworthy and Bideford etc.
Sharron
Spotlessly clean, cosy, comfortable & well equipped. Wonderful views from the patio. Wonderfully secluded in an amazing part of north Devon.
Sallie
Wonderful cottage if youâ??re looking to escape the hustle and bustle but with walks from doorstep including one to a great pub in 10-15 minutes. Prepare to cut off from the world and take full supplies and a good book and youâ??ll have a lovely week - we did! If youâ??re looking for somewhere to work locally the A39 hot desk space is 10 minutes drive away.
Karen
Perfect for two people who want a comfortable get away in a lovely location. Lovely walks and the village pub is excellent. Perfect place to get away from it all but ideally placed for local beaches and attractions.
Becky
Smashing little find, perfect for a relaxing time in an out of the way location. So quiet was this location we were able to watch deer and owls from the patio.
Adrian
Lovely little cottage. Good level of comfort and nicely positioned for exploring the area on foot. No hand soap in the bathroom and not exactly blessed with any extra touches in terms of kitchen consumables. The absence of a welcome folder with tips and local information says a lot. They also expect you to strip the beds and place all bedding and towels in a bag - a covid measure thatâ??s unnecessary now. These are minor gripes overall and wouldnâ??t stop us returning but I feel they should be made clear for anyone planning on staying here.
Kay
Delightful cottage in a secluded location with fantastic views across open countryside. It was a real treat to relax and watch the local wildlife from the sun-trap garden, and from the cottage itself when the weather wasnâ??t so warm.
Sandra
Beautiful views and location a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Sweet cottage well converted.
